German startups raise just EUR 6 billion in investment capital in 2023, a decline of 39 percent compared to 2022 and 65 percent compared to 2021. The number of financing rounds also falls by 15 percent. However, investment in AI startups quadruple. Berlin remains the frontrunner in the German startup scene, but its market share is shrinking.
